Phone Compatibility
Gemecter Sudoku has been written to be compatible with as many phones as possible, specifically those that are compatible with the J2ME specifications CLDP 1.0 and MIDP 2.0. Contact your phone provider to check your phones compatibility or download the demonstration version of Gemecter Sudoku to confirm compatibility. Gemecter Sudoku has been extensively tested on Sony Ericsson K750i and W760i, Motorola L6, Motorola V547, Nokia 6111 and Microsoft Windows based PDA phones.
MIDP stands for Mobile Information Device Profile and CLDC for Connected Limited Device Configuration. Check with your phones manual or manufacturer to determine which versions of both these profiles your phone supports. Most phones manufactured since 2004 support and CLDC 1.0 and MIDP 2.0.
Gemecter Sudoku works best on phones that have a large display of at least 176x176 pixels. The program will work on phones that have lower resolution displays, however, due to the small size of "pencil mark" numbers they will be drawn as small blocks - use the location to determine which values they represent.
The hints available in Gemecter Sudoku are comprehensive, therefore, it may take the program some time to determine a hint, particularly for a fiendish game. Remember that a mobile telephone is designed to be just that - a phone; Gemecter Sudoku requires fairly hefty processing of the game grid in order to generate a hint if the game is at a tricky position.
